1. MECHANISM OF ACTION:
– NexGard COMBO contains three main ingredients: Esafoxolaner, Eprinomectin and Praziquantel.
– After penetrating the skin, the drug will be distributed throughout the cat’s body.
+ Esafoxolaner: Affects the nervous system of ectoparasites after they bite and suck the cat’s blood, causing them to die.
+ Eprinomectin: The active ingredient causes paralysis and death in roundworms after they suck the host’s blood
+ Praziquantel: The active ingredient causes paralysis and death in worms.
2. CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to any active ingredient/excipient of the drug
NOTE:
– Ticks and fleas need to start biting cats to be exposed to Esafoxolaner; therefore; the risk of transmission of arthropod-borne diseases cannot be excluded.
– Tapeworm infections can recur, so control of intermediate hosts such as fleas, rats, etc. is essential.
– To reduce reinfection when new fleas appear, it is recommended to treat all cats in the house. Other animals in the house should also be treated with the appropriate product.
– In case of heavy flea infestation and at the initial stage of using control measures, areas such as cat litter, bedding, where the cat usually lies… should be treated with a suitable environmental product and then vacuumed regularly.
– For external use only. Do not inject, do not take orally or through any other route. Avoid contact with the cat’s eyes. If contact with the cat’s eyes occurs accidentally, rinse the eyes immediately with clean water.
– Ensure that the animals do not lick each other until the application site is dry. If the drug is swallowed, increased salivation may be observed.
– The safety of the product has not been tested in cats under 8 weeks of age.
