ROYAL CANIN DIABETIC CAT FUNCTIONAL FOOD
NUTRITIONAL CONTROL FOR DIABETIC CATS
RECOMMENDATIONS
ROYAL CANIN Diabetic is recommended for all newly diagnosed diabetic cats until clinical signs are controlled.
After that, nutritional management should be carried out according to the Body Condition Score*.
Score 6 or lower: Continue with DIABETIC
Score 7-8-9: Switch to ROYAL CANIN Satiety Cat Food
Note: Use of this food may affect the sensitivity of cats to insulin. The manufacturer recommends monitoring blood glucose levels and insulin response at the start of feeding so that appropriate insulin dosage can be adjusted for the cat.
*Diabetic patients should be regularly evaluated for associated diseases. Dietary modifications should be made as required based on health status.
GLUCOMODULATION
*Glucomodulation is a mixture of ingredients with a low glycemic index, which pets can digest slowly. Helps release energy and sugar slowly, reducing the risk of hypoglycemia (Hypoglycaemia – a common condition when blood sugar levels drop sharply in diabetic pets).
Indications
Cats with diabetes and a body condition score ≤ 6
Cats with diabetes and a body condition score ≥ 7, until blood sugar levels in the body are controlled.
